Job Summary: Execute high-frequency, high-precision trading strategies within U.S. electricity markets, primarily focusing on Financial Transmission Rights (FTRs) and virtual transactions across PJM, MISO, ERCOT, CAISO, and SPP. This role requires a deep understanding of market dynamics, power-flow modeling, and risk management. The ideal candidate will leverage our in-house technology platform and collaborate with a team of veteran traders and engineers to optimize trading performance and manage market exposure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and execute FTR and virtual trading strategies.
  • Monitor real-time market conditions, including congestion patterns, weather data, and outage schedules.
  • Utilize proprietary analytical tools and models for decision-making.
  • Manage and mitigate trading risks in accordance with established risk controls.
  • Collaborate with the technology team to enhance trading systems and tools.
  • Conduct post-trade analysis to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Stay abreast of regulatory changes and market rule updates.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of direct experience in FTR and/or virtual electricity market trading.

Job Summary: Support the trading team by conducting in-depth market research, data analysis, and model development related to Financial Transmission Rights (FTRs) and U.S. electricity markets. This role is crucial for providing actionable insights that inform trading strategies and enhance our proprietary technology platform. The FTR Analyst will work closely with traders and engineers to identify market inefficiencies and opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect, clean, and analyze large datasets related to electricity markets, including historical prices, congestion, weather, and outage data.
  • Develop and maintain analytical models for FTR valuation, market forecasting, and risk assessment.
  • Generate reports and presentations summarizing market trends and trading performance.
  • Assist traders in identifying new trading opportunities and optimizing existing strategies.
  • Collaborate with the technology team on the integration of new data sources and analytical tools.
  • Monitor market news and regulatory developments impacting FTRs and electricity markets.
  • Support ad-hoc analytical requests from the trading and management teams.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a quantitative field such as Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or Computer Science.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in energy market analysis, with exposure to FTRs preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Python, R, SQL) and Excel.
  • Experience with statistical modeling and predictive analytics.
  • Familiarity with U.S. ISO/RTO markets (PJM, MISO, ERCOT, CAISO, SPP) is a plus.

  • Design, develop, test, and deploy software solutions for trading, analytics, and data infrastructure.
  • Work on various components of the platform, including real-time data ingestion, market connectivity, quantitative models, and user interfaces.
  • Optimize existing codebases for performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Collaborate closely with traders, analysts, and other engineers to gather requirements and deliver effective solutions.
  • Implement and maintain automated testing and deployment pipelines.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to architectural discussions.

Qualifications:
